Personal Statement |
- I am seeking re-election to the position of Justice of the Supreme Court. I have 32 years of experience in the Criminal Justice System serving as an Asst. DA, Asst. Attorney General, NYS Assoc. General Counsel and Compliance Officer, Principal Law Clerk to a Justice, Criminal Court Judge and Supreme Court Justice. I have always been found to be competent, experienced and fair and to have the appropriate judicial temperament by the various Bar Associations reviewers. I have 4 decades of public and community service in the Civil Rights Sector: Southern Christian Leadership in Alabama, National Congress of Racial Equality, Jamaica NAACP; in the International field: Department of State, American Embassy in Rome; and in Community-based organizations: Brown Youth Guidance, Queens County Bar Assoc, Assoc. of the Bar of the City of NY, Hogan-Morganthau Assoc., Phi Beta Sigma Inc., Billy Holiday Theatre, 100 Black Men Inc., Professional Children’s School, New Lincoln School, Queens County Small Claims Court, Tribune Society Inc. and Vanguard Coalition Inc. In all of my endeavors, I strive to adhere to the dictates of my fraternal code: “culture for service, service for humanity”.
